OOC: Ok guys, there's a brown, a blue and a green left. If you're interested in any of them (and preferably haven't just impressed one), can you let me know via PM? If you're interested and HAVE already impressed one, you can also PM me - but preference will be given to those who haven't got one... also let me know which alt you'd like to impress.

Zorowar had barely settled when something pounced on the meat scrap he had grabbed...and his hand to boot, little firelizard claws digging in. "Hey, little guy...eat my meat, not my fingers, please." Wow. From drudge to Candidate and now a firelizard of his own. A shiny firelizard. A *bronze* firelizard. "You *are* a handsome little fellow, too." He found more meat for the little guy, letting him eat his fill. He knew, of course, it was just luck that the bronze had picked him, but somehow, it felt like a good omen for a life that had hit rock bottom...and now was turning around. The bronze squeaked again, and he grinned. This was going to be a noisy new companion, but he could handle that. "I think I'll call you..." A bronze needed a masculine name, manly...but he wanted...he sucked at naming things. "Mor," he decided finally. It just felt and sounded right. OOC: Thanks, Pi, he's cute!

.::.Keizo.::. ” 'I've been here a little while, a couple of months I believe but they generally keeps us busy with chores and the like so I guess that explains it.... You should come and join us sometime, if you're free that is.””I’ll probably pass through every now and then. One of the females has been here for turns now, and she has the tendency o drag me towards new people. No doubt she’ll do so again. She’s the brown haired one over there, with the green fire lizard.”He pointed over in Nayza’s direction, the female having turned and facing him. Enthusiasted, she waved back, before continuing on to tend and care for her new companion, and whatever else she was involved into. ”Amusing girl, if I do say so myself...””Yeah... I guess you're right. Makes me doubly glad to have Beni then.””Believe me, you are lucky to have a male. I pity those that get females.”As the Blue went about with his antics the Brown chirped, at one point covering his face with one of his wings to hide his view. He was sure the Blue would have crashed, had it not been for his Keeper. Chirping louder he seemed to scold Beni for his carelessness. .::.Nayza.::. ” Why don't we move so others can have a better chance eh? And besides," he said as he moved to a table with more scraps to feed Krian,””Sure, though not too far. I want to be able to keep on seeing.”She followed the male to a table nearby, still having a clear shot to gaze at the hatchlings – it was fun to see who impressed what. Her Liara was already full, the green being cradled in Nayza’s arms as she crooned in a content manner, sleek tail wrapped around the girl’s wrist. She didn’t bother to acknowledge anything or anyone else beside her Keeper. ”No matter what you do...he will catch her, because I want him to. What do you say to that pretty girlie?””Ah, but you forget an important detail. In the end, it is she that choses – and it is her who decides who she wants for a mate.”Did Draym truly think it would be that easy? A wink was given in his direction, before she noticed Keizo’s gaze over. She grinned, waving back in greetings, before continuing to watch the hatchlings. .::.Ketoh.::. ”Better hurry.””Mmm? Oh, I’m in no rush. If one of them wants me they’ll be able to find me, I’m sure. Now, how is she? She looks so delicate...”The male blinked, watching as Freya took care of Moss, the weak-looking green. Still, even as weak as she was, the firelizard radiated a beauty just like every other of her kind. These were truly some fascinating creatures, and those lucky enough to bond them were in for the thrill of their lives. It was almost like impressing a dragon. Almost. Just then something tugged at the food he had, the male looking downwards to find the Bronze pulling at the meat before devouring it, looking up at the male with a pleading look. Was there more? He chuckled softly, allowing the firelizard to scurry up to his shoulder, before handing him small, bite sized pieces of meat. This motion continued, until the Bronze could fit nothing more in that round and bulging belly of his. ”Well, it seems my Hiro heard me, no?”The flitt chirped happily, nuzzling the male’s cheek. .::.Hinuk.::. Bronze and Gold were gone, and then more eggs hatched. Another Bronze- and it went straight for Ketoh?! The younger lad could feel his blood boil – now he’d never let him forget how he’d impressed a Bronze firelizard and younger Hinuk hadn’t. Still, his attention was diverted by the Blue snapping the meat up – and when the boy stubbornly refused to pay it attention he found his ankles being nipped at. Koru would have none of this; his Keeper would feed him and love him. Now.

Draym had forgotten about that one little detail...but then, if Krian was the fastest and the only one that could remotely have a chance...she would choose him. He could make sure that they liked each other..that was another way.
Ah well, Krian began to snore a little from his engorgement. Draym laughed and poked the bronze's tummy lightly.
" That's true Nayza, then we will see." he smiled at her. " Do you want to go back closer since these little beauties are sleepy?" he asked and lightly brushed her hand, grasping it momentarily, eyes twinkling.

.::.Nayza.::. A faint flash of red clouded the half closed, whirling eyes of Liara, her gaze fixed on the hand that brushed against that of her Keeper. Without warning she snapped at Draym, missing flesh by a few centimeters, before hissing lightly. It seemed Liara didn’t took kindly to people touching Hers. Nayza chuckled softly, retreating her hand, before looking at Draym. ”Well, I think you’re gonna have a lot of work ahead of you, no? Come on, let’s go closer and keep watching.”She then stood, moving closer to the hatching spot once more, and sitting close to where Myr and Mika were.

Draym withdrew his hand quickly from the fire-lizard. He smiled at Nayza and her comment.
" Yeah, it does. She is a fiesty one eh? Looks like she is just protecting her beautiful keeper." He grinned as they moved closer again.
Krian rustled slightly as they moved, but continued to sleep off his meal from before.
He watched Nayza more than the hatching, and kept part of his attention on the Bronze in his arms.

Zorowar was paying no attention to the remaining eggs, his eyes entirely on Mor. The little bronze squeaked again, then fell asleep in the crook of the candidate's arm. At least nobody could possibly say...the firelizard had picked him fair and square, and if anyone asked how a former drudge got a bronze, he had an answer for them. He glanced around at the others to see who had what...they were really special, all of them. Even the blues...but Mor was, of course, the cutest of the lot!

The sound of forks clinking against plates rang around her, and it was all that Corenne could do not to get up and bolt for the quiet of her rooms. It was all that she heard, the clanks and the dings and the scrapes of knives against clay, like an endless cacophony of horror. The only thing keeping her there, firmly in her seat, was the fact that with other people around, a few chairs and benches were bound to be out of place, and fear of falling and looking the part of a fool kept her rooted to her seat. It was with difficulty that she heard what was being shouted near the hearth, that the firelizard eggs were hatching. A nearly instantaneous clamour of benches scraping back against the stone floor and people chattering excitedly blocked out anything else the original speaker may have had to say. It didn't matter, though. There was one thing that could be certain, though. Moving was not, for her, an option. Not then. So, fully cognizant of the fact that she was unlikely to snare a fire lizard with a piece of cooked wherry somewhere behind the rest of the crowd, she placed a piece of her own meal on the floor and settled back in her seat to wait. At the very least, there could be something to be said that with the spices used to season the meat, the cooked stuff had considerably more scent (and possibly flavour?) than that which was still raw. Dripping with blood. Corenne shuddered. Much better this way. Much better not to sacrifice her personal revulsion to raw meat in favour of a little dragon. She wasn't Altair.
Felina leapt to her feet the instant the words were out of the girl's mouth. Fire lizards! Hatching! Here! It would be lovely if one actually chose her, she mused, as she fondled a piece of raw meat, imagining soft reptilian skin instead of somewhat repulsive flesh of what once was a wherry. A living wherry. Who probably had a family somewhere, and children, and a mate, and... As always, she had to swallow down the guilt she felt when handling or eating meat. It had been alive. It had probably known joy. No longer. Even more reason for one of the pretty little things to choose her. The meat should not go to waste like that, and yet nobody would want to eat it after it had been in her hands like that. So long as it didn't choose someone who would neglect it. It was too hard to see wherries dead and on the table, she didn't want to see a fire lizard, with nearly all the empathy of a dragon, who usually surpassed humans in that department, mistreated. She didn't want to feel a piece of her heart go out to all of them, ripped away and leaving her bloody and distressed. She'd seen too much pain in the world to want to watch any more enter. She felt confident that it wouldn't. After all- she was there.

Decisions, decisions! The little green chirruped, looking around her with a confused expression - she wanted food, but with so much on offer, where to get it from? Which should she pick? Luckily, there was something dropped, and she darted forward and snatched the sand-covered morsel, downing it in one. But more - she needed more! There... right there. Taking a flying leap, she landed on Felina, snatching the meat from the candidate's hand. With hunger rumbling in his belly, the little brown creeled, eyes whirling red and yellow. Something appealed to him from outside of the egg pot, and he stretched his not-quite dry wings to flutter awkwardly down to the floor. A scrap of meat beside Akkika's foot was his aim - and once he'd eaten it, he decided to try and bite into the girl's shoe, too. Can't you feed him properly, Akkika?Probably addled from being in his egg for so long, the last little firelizard, a delicate-looking little blue, was struggling to make up his mind. He squawked and fluttered his wings, but didn't seem to be going anywhere - perhaps he was just a bit too weak? Myr, seeing him not doing anything, frowned, and like she did with the green, picked him up. "Here, Calleigh, you're a Healer, you'll be able to look after him, right?" She handed over the blue in one hand and a bowl of scraps in the other."Alright folks, they're all gone... well done to those of you who impressed!" The junior Weyrwoman stood up, and, bidding farewell to those around her, called Cassie to her shoulder and left the caverns. OOC: That's all, folks! If you impressed a firelizard, can you please post here with its name, so that I can update the list. Thanks!

Freya held Moss closely, feeling her weak little body tremble with excitement as she fed her the last bit of her meat. Luckily, the little Green flitts belly seemed as full as it possibly could be, so it was for the better. "She's stuffed, but seems to be doing better," Freya commented, stepping closer to Ketoh to get a better look at the little Bronze flitt that was chriping on his shoulder.
"But compaired to your big, strong Bronze, Moss would never but top flitt," she giggled, petting Moss as the little Green finally felt strong enough to move to her shoulder. Of course, her tail was wrapped tightly around Freya's right upper arm, but the Green Rider saw nothing wrong with it. "He's beautiful," she said, reaching up to sratch Moss' eye ridge. [/sup]

Zorowar had not really got to know anyone here. He stood up, careful not to disturb the gorgeous little bronze that now curled in the crook of his arm. He managed a smile for everyone. "They're all so gorgeous." His was the best, of course, but even firelizard Impression had a bit of that effect, it seemed.
It was preparation for maybe...maybe Impressing a dragon. If he was lucky. He did not, of course, expect to Impress bronze come the real Hatching day. He was pretty sure he would Impress blue...what more could a former drudge expect, really? He was just glad to be getting the chance.

.::.Ketoh.::. "But compaired to your big, strong Bronze, Moss would never be top flitt,""Nonsense, she's just a bit further behind than the rest like the little Blue. I'm sure that she, with the care of a seasoned Rider, will gain strength quickly. Who knows, she might even become one of the best fliers around and give males a chase for their marks!"The male grinned, a hand absently stroking the slender tail that was loosely wrapped about his neck. Hiro was drifting between reality and Lala Land, though the Bronze's half closed eyes watched the weaker Green on the woman's shoulder -- as well as the Blue who seemed in similar state, He chirped a small greeting to them both, though other than that he made no further movement to socialize. His belly was full,, and he felt satisfied. That, and sleep was threatening to overcome him soon.

Freya grinned, and continued petting Moss. "We'll have to see," she said, hoping she was up to the challenge of raising and taking care of the sweet little Green. Zoldth had been a handful when she was younger, but now she had a much smaller version of a dragon that could sit on her shoulder and cause twice as much damange. "Who knows," she said, thinking ahead to what had to be done to make sure the little flitt survived. [/sup]
