.::.Nayza.::. ” If I get a female though...you better get the best flier on all Pern!””Trust me, he will be the best there ever was.”The female grinned, excitement flashing in the reddish amber depths of her eyes, before she turned her attention back to the two males in the basket. So far things were getting interesting, and should they both impress opposite gender ‘lizards, things would be even more interesting in the future. Ah, Weyr life was good... But it was so much better when she wasn’t the only Candidate about. Already she had met a few, Draym and Oisin, plus she new old Candidate friends who were now Riders, like Myr and Pi. Weyr life was definitely good.

[glow=red,2,300]Draym[/glow]
Draym smiled at her. He really enjoyed her company more than anyone else he had met. She wasn't bad on the eyes either..but that was beside the point...or was it...Draym was such a flirt sometimes he couldn't think straight.
" Driving me crazy..." he whispered a little loud.
He continued to watch the eggs.

Oh look at all the pretties! She watched as a blue fell flat on his face. She grinned happily, but said nothing. Why should she?
Zenniel
Oh, we all know that Zen already has a bronze and a blue, but both fire-lizards alerted her of the hatching as soon as it started. How? They started to hum. A loud, incessant humming that came from their throats any time anything was giving birth. That's how it was. She had gotten used to it after a while, seeing as almost every day a new herdbeast was born and such.
But when they began pulling on her hair, well that's when things got out of control. She growled and followed them to where the fire-lizard hatching was. Oh, fire-lizards. One, a green, had already 'impressed,' but there were two others, and more eggs to hatch. This fire-lizard hatching may be fun after all.
Akkika
Who knows why Akkika was inside this day. Who knows what she ever does. But today she was inside, and today she had heard from rumors that a fire-lizard clutch was hatching. She didn't know who's fire-lizard had clutched them, but it had to be someone. So, curious, she dropped by.
Calleigh
The MasterHealer was not needed in her barracks. There was no one to fix, no one who had randomly gotten a small bruise and wanted to know if it were infected or not. Yes, no one of that sort. Good. Calleigh didn't feel like sitting around today anyway, doing nothing. Instead, she found herself in the same place the others were. Today a fire-lizard clutch was hatching. Oh wow. She loved fire-lizards.

Today, like most other days, Kirin was sat at his usual spot in the lower caverns eating his lunch. However today was usual in the fact that he was sat on his own. The rumble of voices and chinking of cutlery enveloped the candidate as his mind wandered far and wide. His thoughts were filled with ideas of valor and gallantry as a horde of dragons took to the sky to fight the fearsome foe that was Thread! And of course there was Kirin! Riding on the back of a magnificent Bronze dragon as he led his Wing into battle...
A voice suddenly broke into his bubble and the tone and atmosphere in the room shifted slightly. He turned to look over at the hearth where the rider say with her firelizard and now hatching clutch. Kirin's stomach lurched with excitement at the prospect, as did most other people, of impressing any kind of Dragon-kin. Suddenly losing all of the manners he had be raised with, Kirin wolfed down the remains of his lunch before heading over to where the firelizards were.
By the time he got there, a small group had already gathered, a fair few of whom were candidates who he recognised even if he hadn't yet really spoken to them. Also three of the fifteen eggs had hatched to reveal a Green, Blue and Bronze. By the looks of things the Green had already impressed but the other two had not been so fortunate as of yet.

The little bronze made an odd chirruping sound, stretching his wings before taking a leap of faith off the edge of the pot. He landed, with a soft thud, on the floor, and promptly made his way over to Draym, snapping up at the lad.[/color]
Meanwhile, the little green was also going her own thing, trying to find food. She saw a piece of meat and snatched at it, then looked at the closest thing to her - Nayza - and BAMB! Impression.
Not to be left out, the blue hatchling sat first calculating the scene, trying to decide what to do, where to go. Finally, he stood up, prowling around the edge of the pot, watching those waiting around him to see which one would be his...

.::.Keizo.::. The Green impressed, though Keizo didn’t care much, his gaze was on the males. Mainly the Bronze. As he leaped out of the pot, nearing Draym and snapping at him, the drudge raised an eyebrow. Well, it wasn’t eating yet, or showing any signs of impression, so the male guessed he was still available. So the albino stretched his hand out, swinging a rather large and juicy looking piece of meat close to the Bronze’s range of view. With luck he’d fall to temptation and snap it up – and Keizo could impress the male. After all, Draym seemed busy flirting and stuff – so surely he wouldn’t complain. Early wherries got the grubs, right? .::.Nayza.::. ”Mmm, you said something- Oh! Hello there, cutie!”As she felt something snatch the meat form her hands the female turned, spotting the Green. She had thought the little darling had already impressed... Still, as the feeling of hunger was pressed into her the female realized she was the new Keeper for this little one. ”Come here, Liara, here’s more food. You hungry, baby?”The flitter chirped, crawling up the female’s arm and perching on her shoulder, continuing to devour the food offered. ”Draym, look! I impressed the Green! Isn't she absolutely stunning?”Nayza was far too buy to see the Bronze snapping at her friend, or the drudge trying to tempt it with meat.

Kirin's grey eyes wondered about the area, flitting over all the peoples faces and gazing at the wandering Firelizards. He saw a few of the other people with meat in their hands as they tried to tempt the flitters to come to them. A little Green swiftly found her own. The Bronze seemed like he had, but then when some else put meat in its way, Kirin suddenly realised that it hadn't and he had to chuckled at the little competition over the miniature Bronze. He was a fine creature, that was sure, but there were others just as fine.
Kirin took a nice looking piece of meat and tentatively held it close to the Blue who was still prowling, un-impressed. The Blue was a handsome little fellow. But then again Kirin thought this about pretty much every Dragon or Firelizard.

| Malin | Aww, how cute, someone got a green flitt! Malin watched, her eyes uncharacteristically emotional.
Zenniel
Oh how pretty! The green had hatched! She grabbed a piece of meat from the bowl, and held it out. Xiri was twittering while humming, his eyes lighted in many different colors. Cree just watched on, wishing he could have some of that meat.
Akkika
She grabbed a piece of meat from the bowl, and hummed a tuneless song, flipping the meat over and over in her hand, as if it were suddenly interesting. She had no idea what to do next.
Calleigh
Oh, so pretty! Calleigh grabbed a piece of meat, not caring what it was. And held it out for whatever color wanted to eat it. She liked Fire-lizards.

[glow=red,2,300]Draym[/glow]
Draym was slightly distracted. He was suddenly being snapped at by a bronze fire-lizard. No way! he thought...I better give the little thing some food before he snacks on my finger!
Draym held out the meat to the lizard as the thoughts of hunger were pressing on him. " Ok, ok...don't be so hasty! Here!" He gave the first piece to the little Bronze and got some more ready.
" Great Nayza! A green is wonderful!!" he smiled at her quickly, but went back to putting meat to the little fellow.
As the fire-lizard moved closer Draym stroked the eye ridges with one hand and fed him with the other.
" Alright there Krian, eat your fill!" he said smiling. " Look Nayza..a Bronze!"
[glow=bronze,2,300]H'del[/glow]
H'del shoulders slumped as the bronze went over to one of the candidates...Draym if he remembered right. The blue was still wondering around looking for someone. H'del stretched out his arm and tried to coax the little blue out of the pot with some meat.
A blue wouldn't be so bad. H'del also kept an eye out for any other eggs that were about to shatter...but for now...his attention was mostly on the blue, who looked still somewhat confused.

FreyaMine, the Firelizard Hatching has already begun, crooned Green Zoldth, curled in her sunning spot, eyes barely open to the light. Her mossy green hide, lighter in the morning light.
Valting from her laying spot, a young Rider of 25 Turns quickly made her watch to the Lower Caverns. Thank you, Zoldth, my Love, the girl thought, reaching out to the wall as she turned a sharp corner as she entered the area buzzing with people and firelizards. "Am I late?" she asked, her voice low as she tried not to scare any of the new flitters.
Her clothes were rumpled, her hair free and flowing, while her eyes were flashing with excitement at the sight of the new firelizards. [/sup]

.::.Ketoh & Hinuk.::. ”I don’t know why you even follow – it’s not like anything above a Blue would choose you.” “Oh, shut up Ketoh. I bet I could get five Bronzes if I wanted to!” “Right, Hinuk. And purple herdbeast fly across the sky and fight thread besides the dragons. You’ll be lucky if a Blue even looks at you. As for me, I’m sure to impress only the best of this flitter clutch – why, I bet I get a Bronze. Or maybe the Gold herself!” “You’d wish!”This was the main conversation between the half brothers, golden eyes glaring at sapphire and vice versa. It was uncommon to find them together, though when they were bickering seemed to be their main source of interaction. They each did care for the other, the only survivors of the onslaught that had claimed the caravan’s life. An event that they only knew off, and no one else. It had been a few sevendays since their arrival, and already they were beginning to get used to this Weyr life. Today, they were going for a firelizard hatching – and already they were competing over who would do better. And this as just a flitter hatching, Faranth have mercy on the actual Dragon Hatching itself! As they arrived both filled their hands with as much meat as possible, dangling it along with the others who hoped to attract one of these miniature beauties to themselves.

Turning her head, Freya glanced over her shoulder and noticed two boys walking towards her. They looked remotely alike, could possibly pass for rivals, maybe . . . . MAYBE half brothers, but that was all. They were arguing over flitters, this causing Freya to grin, pushing her hair over her shoulder and out of her eyes. She sighed heavily.
"I'm not late," she said grinning, slipping away before returning with her own meat, hopeful to Impress a Firelizard of her very own.
Now, why by my Shell, Rider-of-Mine, would I allow you to be late? Zoldth questioned, crooning in laughter as she sunned herself.
Freya chose to ignore her dragon's comment, focusing her attention on the two boys. "Are you going to the Firelizard Hatchling?" she questioned, grinning in a friendly nature. [/sup]

.::.Ketoh & Hinuk.::. ”Are you going to the Firelizard Hatchling?””Well, I don’t carry raw meat around for nothing. So yes, we are. Congratulations, you guessed it...” “Hinuk, behave. Never mind him, he’s just in a grumpy mood. And yes, we are here for the hatching.” “Pfft... You do know she’s too old for you, right?”A glare was shot at the younger boy, golden eyes burning a hole into his skin – if they only could literally do such a thing. Still, Ketoh decided to dismiss Hinuk’s comments, watching the brat spring off and mingle with the rest of the crowd. He decided to sty with Freya, though, she seemed ok and pretty. Too bad she looked to be much older than him, though. Maybe around eight to ten turns in age difference or something? ”He can be such a child sometimes... Anyways, my name’s Ketoh. That brat that just left was Hinuk. Tell me, my lady, can I ask for your name?”

A smile spread over Freya's face as the two started arguing again, even though the one who had walked off, Hinuk, had pretty much gotten a bit of an attitude with her. He was cute for his age. The second, Ketoh, had asked her name, and seemed really nice.
"I'm Freya of Green Zoldth," she said, grinning, "It's nice to meet you, Ketoh, and Hinuk, too, even though he walked off," she said, making a face at the raw meat. "If I wasn't so keen to the idea of Impressing a Firelizard, I'd let Zoldth have this meat," she said, winking at Ketoh.
"Are you a Candidate?" she asked, seeing how he hadn't given a dragon's name after his. [/sup]

The blue hatchling looked a little confused for the briefest of moments, before lunging out and snatching meat from Kirin's hand. Lookee here, Kirin's impressed!
After a full moments of nothingness, more eggs began to hatch - and pretty rapidly, too!
A tiny green popped from her shell, and seemed almost too weak to move for the first few moments. Giving her a hand, Myr lifted her up carefully, and placed her into Freya's hands. "Here, take care of her, Freya," she said, before turning back to the other hatchlings. The little green squawked quietly, grabbing at a piece of meat.
Two browns burst from their shells at the same time, almost bumping into each other in their haste to find food. One made his way to the side of the eggpot, snatching eagerly at the meat offered by H'del. The other took a little longer, but he eventually settled for Keizo's meat offering.
Taking her time to appear, the egg which Myr had assumed contained a gold suddenly started to crack, leaving a large hatchling among its shards. Standing up, she shook herself clear of egg-goo, before creeling hungrily and looking for food.
Almost immediately after the gold, a bronze hatched, his upside-down body unfurling slowly from its egg-cramped position, wings lying flat. He managed to get himself upright, and then let out a sharp screech of hunger before looking for food.
