Hatching Cavern

The entrance to this cavernous lava bubble is set just to the side of the waterfall.

Inside, stands have been erected from wood around the edges, from which spectators can watch the newest Weyr arrivals hatch and impress their lifemates.

Sand fills the centre, a mixture of colours - black from Ista, red from Igen, brown from Tillek - imported by the riders. It is very warm, and there is always a funny smell in the air.
