((xP Lots of posts...))
Tarin smiled and sat down, quickly starting on his own food. Occasionally he broke off bites of his meatroll to give to Rhani, who remained on his shoulder. The Brown was a still a little nervous around a lot of company. Hearing a couple others talking about racing flitts, he grinned. "Do you think you could win a race Rhani?" He asked the fire lizard. Rhani swallowed his current bite of food and chirped agreement. Although he could be a little shy, he loved to compete.

Hearing the newest arrival, Candidate wise, asking wither or not his Brown could win in a race made Oisin lift his head once more. His hair was starting to bug him, but with so many people around, he wasn't about to put his bandanna on, simply due to the large amount of food suddenly on the table.
Reaching out, he tapped Brun's tail, a silent message to stay close and off other's plates. In his bandaged hand, he held another strip of meat for the flitter, tearing off two small pieces and motioning Brun to give them to the other Browns. "Go on," he nudged.
Chriping and nodding, Brun handed off the two pieces of meat, before quickly returning to Oisin's plate, munching on his own piece. [/sup]

Though Draym’s comment was heard, for now it was dismissed by the girl, her attention focused on the new arrivals and flitters that patrolled about the table. Arashi was always such a lovely act, the flitter was amusing beyond end. She watched his madness of food hoarding, before he settled in the center of the table. Smiling, she scratched his head softly, before filling a small plate with a few pieces f spiced wherry meat, bread, fruits and meatrolls. Small portions they were, but surely more than enough to satisfy the small visitors. Brown seemed to be popular today.
”I must say, it’s been a while since we’ve had the kitchen buzzing with so much activity; and so early in the morning too!”
As the topic changed to flitter races Nayza listened, keen on hearing what the males would share and input. ”You know, that sounds like a nice idea. We should host flitter races one day, no? We could have races for all rank colors, and then one in which all flitts could enter and race – regardless of color. Mmm... I wonder if the Weyrleaders would allow us to host such thing. Plus, Cassie’s clutch is almost ready to hatch soon – so there’ll be an even higher population of firelizards around!”

Tarin nodded. "That would be great," he agreed around a mouthful of food. "We should ask sometime." He couldn't imagine why they would say no, and if they did it wouldn't be hard to race flitts anyways... And a bunch of newly hatched fire lizards too? That would be an adventure in itself, having baby fire lizards in the race. Maybe they would need an age category too... Rhani trilled to show his approval of the idea too before snatching what was left of Tarin's meatroll from his hand and wolfing it down.

Draym smiled at the conversation. He liked the little creatures, but had never really actively wanted or saught one.
" They really should be ok with it." he smiled. He noticed that the newest brown was hoarding food in the center of the table and laughed. He took a piece of fruit and bit into it. He was getting full. Good fruit though...
He looked over at Nayza and grinned at her reactions to the little flitters. She really must want one. That clutch had better hatch soon!

Nodding in agreement with the idea of a flitt race, Oisin couldn't take it any longer. He started to rise, but remembered his manners. "It ws nice meeting all of you, but I really should be going. Chores," he said, nodding to most of the Candidates, knowing they would know what he meant. Sighing, he shrugged his shoulders, then turned away. He clicked his tongue twice on the roof of his mouth, but kept walking.
Turning his head from side to side, as if asking where Oisin had gone, Brun sat on the table, looking from person to person. His eyes started to turned a worrish yellow color, but the clicking sound calmed him. In a matter of seconds, he lunged off the table and glided over to Oisin's shoulder, landing lightly.
From the doorway of the kitchens, Oisin glanced back at the table in the shadows, wondering if he would see the others again, but thought it not very likely. The Weyr was a big place. Turning from the kitchens, he made his way out into the hall, stopping for a second to put his bandanna on, tying it so it would keep his bangs out of his eyes. "Let's go to work, Brun" he whispered. "It was nice meeting all of you, but I really should be going. Chores." "Chores? Ah! I almost forgot, I was having such a good time. Gotta run!"
Grabbing a meatroll and holding it in her mouth the female waved good bye to the others, giving a small bow of her head in apologies for such a hurried exit. The Headwoman would kill her if she was late again. She managed to get out of her spot with ease, avoiding to bump into either Rider or Candidate (thankfully) before disappearing out the door that lead to the kitchens. Chores... For once, she would have preferred not to have them anymore -- not when there were so much newcomers in the Weyr, Still, it couldn't be helped, and skipping them would only get her in trouble.

Arashi really was having a field day today. It was usually so much more subdued, but now there were people, flitts and food! Mustn't forget the food now. And he really took a liking to Brun, Oisin's Brown. Arashi crooned in delight both when Brun nudged over a meatroll and when he gave him a nice piece of meat. He never noticed the crumbs that he had managed to scatter everywhere, including his own hide where a couple had stuck.
Just as he crept over to K'mo's meatrolls to have another, K'mo whistled; his fun and feasting was over. Answering the call that he knew to mean 'come back' the brown lifted himself into the air and fluttered over to the Blue riders shoulder before alighting there. 'Come now you little glutton. No more or you will be unable to fly' His keeper murmured as he gently brushed the crumbs off his ward.
'You all approve of the racing then? I may have to see if I can find one of the Weyrleaders and talk to them about it... See if we can't find a prize for it also...' He trailed off into his own thoughts, as he began working out how they'd go about organising this. Although it would have to wait a little while so all those soon to hatch Flitts could join in too. K'mo was glad that he had come down for breakfast when he had, this has been most enjoyable. Then the talk of Chores came about and then the candidates started leaving. Oh how he remembered chores. Loathsome chores...
'Well, if you're all off to do your chores I guess I should go and do my own. Tiath wont want to wait all day to be washed.' He said as he got up, downed the last of his Klah and began clearing up his stuff from the table

Chores! Tarin had completely forgotten. Racing flitts seemed so much more exciting than working... "I guess I should go too then," he murmured. Everyone else was leaving so there wasn't much point in putting his chores off to stay and chat. Before standing to go he took a last swallow of his drink and took another meatroll to share with Rhani, and then trotted out of the kitchens. The Headwoman wouldn't be happy if he was late for his chores again.

Draym excused himself too and chased after Nayza. He finally caught up to her and stopped her for a minute.
He breathed in ragged gasps. " You...run...fast...Nayza...", he took a deep breath, " Didn't I tell you....that I...was going to...h-help you with your chores?"
He grinned at her and motioned for her to keep going. He had caught his breath. He hoped that they weren't too much farther away though. Still, he smiled, he was enjoying this little fire-cracker's company.

He was helping? She hadn’t thought him to be serious. Besides, the work she was doing today was more female-wise cooking – not that males couldn’t cook – so she doubted he’d be able to come.
”Thanks for the offer, really, but I can manage. Besides, the Headwoman would hate wasting valuable time by assigning two to one task that we can handle on our own. She’ll want you to do your own chores. But maybe another time, alright?”

" Ha! If you say so! But next time, I won't take no for an answer. My chores are easy enough, I don't mind helping out!" He said smiling.
" Well then, I guess that this is good-bye for now pretty Nayza." he laughed and gripped her shoulder for a second before turning around and running back the other way, waving back to her on his way.
