Draym stretched out and got out of bed. He turned around and made it quickly, then thought about what to do today.
It's a new day! he thought, I can do anything as long as my chores get done...I wonder if anyone else is awake.
He wondered over to the sink, bowl filled with water and mirror, and attacked his face and hair. He was beautiful in minutes, and ready to wonder around the barracks to see who was awake.
Maybe some girls would brighten his day and be adventurous with him, but any company would do really.
He sauntered out to the hall.

"Ugh, sharding glows... They should come up with with something better to light the halls -- it's so annoying to be on that scorching glow watch chore."
She'd been up and about since before Rukbath's ray were even visible in the horizon, the seventeen turn old scowling to herself as she returned from her previous chore. Honestly, she liked her beauty sleep, but there would be none of that now until the night. Once her sleep was interrupted Nayza almost never could regain it. So she'd gone to the girl barracks to change, coming out in a loose white short and some knee length brown trousers. SOmething simple, considering the Headwoman always had something pending for her. This was the down-side to being a Candidate in a Weyr for so long. Others left, but you remained, and somehow chroes managed to tag along behind you all day.
"Mmmm... I hope they have meatrolls down at the kitche-"
Her sentence was unfinished, a large yawn managing to break through while the female stretched her arms widely. She then rubbed her eyes, just as she took a corner in the halls, before colliding into something hard and solid.
"Shards, who left the door open aga- Oh... Who are you?"
Reddish amber eyes blinked in surprise, her tones turning from scolding to pure intrigue as she focused on what, exactly, she'd bumped into. There hadn't been new Candidates around for a while, thus seeing a face she actually didn't recognize was amusing. Well, anything was more amusing than chores, that was for sure. [/sup]

Really, Draym hadn't expected to run into a girl. The first thing that came to his mind was to see if she was ok, even though she had just bumped into him...and cursed. He smiled a little.
" Are you ok? I'm Draym by the way...and I don't know you either." he was a little surprised for a minute. How had he never met a pretty thing like this! He had been in the woods too long as of late. " Where are you headed pretty lass?"
His eyes danced as he looked at her and smiled.

"Draym? Mmm... That's a name I haven't heard before, so you must be new around here. Name's Nayza, pleasure to bump into you."
The female grinned in return, discarding away the compliment of the male -- though she certainly hadn't missed it. Nayza just wasn't the type to get flustered with compliments. If he wanted to flirt that was all good with her -- so long as he knew the limits.
"Where are you headed pretty lass?" "Kitchens, gonna grab a bite to eat before the Headwoman throws another chore my way. Care to join me, Draym?"

" Not exactly the adventure I was hoping to find in the halls, but a good meal would do me good especially with a girl like you." He cautioned himself to tread lightly with the flirting. He wasn't sure how she would react.
" I am new here, well I guess you could say new...been here about a month or two." he offered her his arm in courtesy.
" You know Nayza, nice name too, I'd help you with your chores if you wanted." he smiled at her and began to walk toward the Kitchens for their quick meal.

Well, he was a charmer. She found it amusing, males could be so flirtatious when they medt someone of the opposite gender... Giving a courteous nod she took the oppered arm, keeping her pace with his as they walked. "Well, I don't know what kind of adventures you where expecting to find in the barrack's halls... But the kitchens are calm in the morning -- so it's easier to get a meal." She lead the way by instinxt, used to taking the lead. He might be taller and a male, but that wasn't a fact that would subdue her dominant nature.
"Been here about a month or two." "A couple of months, and I hadn't seen you yet? Shards, this place is big. You'd think after five turns it'd be hard to miss a new face among the crowd..."
This was more of an out-loud comment by Nayza, not really meant to have a reply from Draym, though he could do so if he liked to. "Well, with some luck, the Headwoman won't see us. I'm sort of looking forwards to a break from chores -- and you're more than welcomed to help in them. I don't think anyone would have a complain in that subject."
((Such an ugly post. XD))

Her hand was warm on his arm. That's nice, he thought. He laughed at her comment, " I just like to look for something different every day, that's why I explore outside, and looks like i found something very different today!"
He let her take the lead, not knowing much about the direction of the Kitchens yet. " Five turns? Come on now! You would have surely Impressed before now!" She was so personable...how had she not Impressed! He looked over at her while they walked. " Why did you not Impress, if you don't mind a guy prying a little?"
" Always glad to help, especially when it can keep great hands like yours in their great shape!" he caressed her hand a little and then let his hand fall again. " Lead on Nayza!"

"Well... You need clutches to be able to impress -- right? The Senior Queen hasn't clutched in a while, and I failed the others. No big deal, I get another try with Capricath's & Miracath's clutches. And I get to help a few DragonRiders around bathe their bonds, so it's not all that bad..."
True, she was disappointed at not impressing but a) she wasn't about to let the entire world know about it, and b) it really asn't that big of a deal. She had plenty of turns before she was off-age for candidacy. Surely her bond would eventually arrive, right? She hoped so. His continuous praises made her chuckle softly, the female shaking her head lightly.
"Do tell, are you this charming with all the ladies?"
She didn't wait for an answer though, bounding away as the kitchen's entrance came into view. Stopping mid-way she grinned. "Come on, you're slower than a deadglow!' With that, she raced off again, and into the kitchens. She was an active child, that was for sure.

He grinned at her, but still felt the sadness that emminated from her when she spoke of that failure.
" Yes, you do need eggs." he said.
When she asked if he was flirty with all the ladies, it tripped him up a little. " Well..I.." but she bounded off toward the Kitchen entrance.
He ran after her, finally catching up. They were at the Kitchens now, and they were empty!
" To answer your question dear Nayza...I only flirt with a lady, and with one that is so deserving." he said out of breath, yet dignified.
He smiled at her and his eyes twinkled again. This was a meal he would not soon forget. What exactly would come up in conversation with a woman like this? He chuckled to himself a little.

"To answer your question dear Nayza...I only flirt with a lady, and with one that is so deserving." ”My, I suppose I should be flattered then, no?”
She gave a friendly smile, a clear sign that she was only messing around with her words – and meant no real insult or harm. The kitchens were, indeed, rather empty, though already food was being made and set aside for hungry visitors like them. Grabbing a large plate she placed a bit of everything in it, before pointing to a jar and two mugs.
”You get those and bring something good to drink, I’ll go get a table.”
With that she wandered off, platter in hand, with two smaller plates as well. She settled everything down, before sitting herself and waiting for Draym to come. The platter had everything, from meatrolls and redfruits, to exquisite and unique southern fruits and spiced wherry meat. Bread was also present, along with a few sweeter looking buns – all neatly arranged. There was enough for two people, perhaps a bit extra just in case either or both were hungrier than usual.

Sitting in the shadows of the kitchen, plate before him, Oisin watched as the two Candidates walked in; one male and one female. Sitting on his shoulder was Brun, his Brown Firelizard, who was creeping his head off at the sight of the two people. "Enough," Oisin grumbled, picking up one of his meatrolls and taking a bite.
His shaggy, black hair was hiding his eyes, since Brun had seen it fit this morning to jolt Oisin out of a deep sleep by niping at his fingers. Now, his middle and index fingers were wrapped in cloth, which had a slight stain of red where the blood was seeping through. His clothes were simple, black pants and a white shirt, both seemed like he had slept in them, but luckily, he had changed before coming into the kitchens, and his clothes were clean. His bandanna lay on the table, where it would stay Brun was satisifed with Oisin meal and would allow the boy to put it on. "You're worse than my mother, sometimes," Oisin smirked, taking a second bite of his meatroll.
Oisin took another bite of his meatroll, leaving him with hardly anything left but crust and just a little bit of meat. So, instead of finishing the last little bit off, he handed it to Brun, who crooned in happiness and snapped at the meatroll, nearly biting Oisin again. "Be careful," Oisin whispered, picking up a piece of meat for the little lizard. [/sup]

Draym grabbed what Nayza had told him to get and followed her. He passed by the loner at the table in the shadows and smiled and nodded.
He sat down at the table next to her. " Nayza....you know...your name really can't be changed for a nickname! I guess I can stick with Nayza then...it is a great name." he smiled at her and poured the fruit juice.
" I hope you like this juice. It's tangy, but it is refreshing!" He took a sip, but waited for her to start eating first.
" Ladies first!" he said smiling and gestured to the the heaped plate.

"Nayza....you know...your name really can't be changed for a nickname! I guess I can stick with Nayza then...it is a great name." ”Bingo! That’s what I like the most, I never got why people bother making nicknames, unless you have an extremely long and hard name of course.”
The female grinned, watching the male pour some juice for himself before following in tow, her eyes wincing lightly at the taste. Bit strong for her liking, though she had to admit it was still a good juice. She turned to the tray after Draym’s comment, picking one of the many fruits and taking a bite out of it. Sweet and ripe, just in perfect time for eating.
”Well, there. I went first. Now hurry and dig in too, or I’m gonna start feeling uncomfortable. Never liked to have people with me watch while I eat.- Mm, oh! Look, a flitter! I wonder what color it is...”
Hearing a rustle behind she turned, now catching sight of the other lad at the table and the critter with him. Still, they were closer to the shadows, so it was hard to determine the firelizard’s color. Was it Brown, dark Blue or Green? Well, she decided she wanted to find out, and thus motioned for Draym to grab the jar and mugs and follow her. She grabbed the tray, bitten fruit in her mouth now, before self-inviting herself over and sitting down. He didn’t look like the kind who would openly join them, so she figured they might as well join him instead. Placing the tray down, and grabbing the fruit in her hand again, she grinned.
”Well, hi there. I’m Nayza, this is Draym. Pleasure to meet you; you must be another Candidate, right?”
With a simple hand gesture she invited him and his flitter to part-take in the breakfast event – there was more than enough food in the tray to go around after all. Still, her reddish amber eyes traveled towards the firelizard, finally getting a good glimpse to notice the brown hide.
”Oh, so it is a Brown! Wow, he’s simply stunning! Wouldn’t you agree, Draym?”

He smiled and took a meatroll as she looked around and grinned at her spontaneousness. He got up with her and grabbed the mugs and juice.
He walked behind her and plopped down, again beside her, and nodded as she introduced them. As she leaned in to see the Fire-lizard's color, he smiled.
" All this ruckus to find out a fire-lizard's color? You are definitely adventurous Nayza!" he laughed and grinned at their new breakfast mate, and his flitter. His hand brushed Nayza's back in his excitement at finding out that she was the adventurous type, that was good. She was a great girl.
" Sorry there Nayza-girl, don't take my touchy-feely acts the wrong way hmm?" he smiled at her and, eyes twinkling, took a fruit from the tray.

As the two Candidates joined him, Oisin couldn't help but pull into himself, only to have Brun pull him back out. The light brown fire-lizard leapt down to the table and started sniffing the food. In the shadows, his hide looked darker, but not even the shadows couldn't hide his color from the girl.
"His name is Brun," Oisin stated, reaching out and taking hold of his cup. He, too, had the tangy juice, only watered down to take some of the bit out of it.
Brun turned his head and snorted and sent a mental picture of him giving his name to the two Candidates, causing Oisin to wince. "And I'm Oisin. Nice to meet you . . . . Nayza, Draym," he said, putting his cup down, while reaching out and holding a piece of meat for Brun. [/sup]
