H'del gathered a meager breakfast. He hadn't had much of an appetite lately and he had been a little sluggish.
Bah! You haven't been feeling well for a few days! You should go see that Healer, Githala. Malloth chided him.
It's just a head cold...nothing more!
He sat down heavily at a small table and poured some rich fruit juice. He couldn't get sick! He would beat this head cold down with food and relaxation!
He bit into a fruit and sighed. Ir'en walked by and waved, not stopping. Must have duties to attend, H'del thought. He shivered even though he was rather hot. He took off the thin coat he had on and laid it on the table.
He refused to believe that this could even remotely be that fever illness that had come over with the boat of Tithes. His pulse was beating in his head, hmmm....perhaps a trip to Githala was a good idea.
He looked at the half eaten breakfast and decided he was done. He got up.
H'del only took three steps toward the exit before he blacked out and fell to the ground. Malloth bugled in alarm outside.

G'ryn paused as he reached the doorway of the kitchen, staring with surprise at the collapsed rider. "Shards, what happened?" He rushed foreward, unsure of exactly what to do but thinking that a human presence was better than nothing.
Maybe you should find a healer, Rorth suggested uncertainly.
Maybe... ask Malloth what happened too. He had heard a dragon bugle, and although it had surprised him G'ryn hadn't really thought about the reason for it. But it must have been the Bronze... G'ryn hesitated beside H'del's collapsed form, wondering if it would be best to leave the rider and find a healer or- Kess popped out of between, seeming to have only just realized that his friend was headed somewhere with food. Wave was just behind. G'ryn gave the two Blues a thankful look. "Go find a healer," he ordered, "Githala or Calliegh..." Wave hesitated, but immediately Kess disappeared again.

Malloth told Rorth quickly what happened. That H'del was sick and was too stubborn to go to the Healer, he had been on his way when he collapsed.
H'del was partially awake now, enough to know that someone was around. " Help.." he weakly whispered.
Githala had been in her room, going over some papers when the little blue popped in and shoved an image of the collapsed rider in the Kitchens.
She grabbed some medicines, shoved them in a bag, and ran out the door.
When Githala arrived, it looked as though...ah...H'del was coming around a little, but she approached quickly.
" Thank you G'ryn for sending Kess to me quickly. He needs to be moved to a ground weyr, for treatment. We may need some apprentices." She quickly went over him with deft hands. " Hmm...I think that he has that fever that was brought over. Have you touched him?"

Rorth quickly conveyed Malloth's news to G'ryn. The thoughts he had on that were interrupted by H'del starting to wake up. "Help..." "Kess went to find a healer," he replied, shifting his weight uncertainly from one foot to the next. Hopefully the flitt would find someone soon. H'del didn't sound good.
Not much later Githala arrived and G'ryn gave a relieved sigh as she spoke. The news that more people could be catching the fever probably wasn't good, but hopefully they could catch everyone with it fast... "Have you touched him?"
G'ryn shook his head. "No." Kess reappeared, landing proudly on the Brown rider's shoulder. "Good job," he said softly to the flitt. The Blue chirped cheerfully. Wave just watched, his eyes flickering uncertain shades of yellow.
Could you still catch the fever from being near him? Rorth asked nervously. The dragon didn't like the idea of his rider falling sick.

Githala sighed in relief. " That's probably a good thing, but if you do begin to feel ill...stop going out into the public of the weyr and go straight to a Healer. Don't pull a H'del." She slowly gave him some fellis for any pain and a little featherfern.
" Can you send one of those beauties to get some apprentices to help move him? I don't want any non-Healer touching him and risking infection." She asked.
H'del took the drugs as best he could, but the pounding in his head was crazy. He groaned. " I just want to get to my weyr, I can stay there."
" Oh no you can't! I want you close by, you are stubborn and need extra care." Githala put her foot down, and despite the pain and his current condition...H'del smiled.

((Pull a H'del... xD If you crash into a door instead of opening it the right way its Pulling a Sparrow... Anyways...))
"Of course," G'ryn replied. "You two heard Githala, go find some apprentices." This time both Blues disappeared, almost at the same time. Wave seemed anxious to make up for not going on the first mission.
Apprentices could catch the fever too though, the Brown rider thought uncertainly. Maybe Githala would just rather that they got sick than a rider. It didn't make a lot of since to him.
In his perch outside, Rorth's eyes flickered nervously. He didn't want his Mine lingering with a sick rider, or he would catch it too. Can't you go yet?
I'll wait until the apprentices are here, atleast G'ryn replied in a soothing tone. Anyways, Kess and Wave are expecting food. After doing two tasks, they would at least expect a reward. And G'ryn still needed breakfast. I'll be sure to wash my hands first though, he added jokingly.
Rorth snorted, still uncertain.

Githala looked up from working on H'del. " Don't worry G'ryn, the apprentices will more than likely bring some gloves or something, and we wash thouroughly after touching each patient." She smiled at him, trying to reassure his anxious face.
" It does seem that we have a heaftier Immune System though." She added. " You may leave as soon as you wish now dear, I know you are waiting, and I thank you...but don't put stress on your big beastie!" She giggled a little.
H'del opened an eye to see Githala and G'ryn over him. G'ryn hadn't touched him, at least he was not likely to get sick by contact. His head throbbed again so he shut his eye.
Don't worry Malloth, it's just a fever...
Quiet! You need to rest! I will check up on you.
H'del smiled and tried to drift into sleep onto the uncomfortable ground.

Wave and Kess popped back into the room with an excited bugle, announcing their success at finding someone. ((npc's I suppose...)) "Rorth would definately appreciate that," G'ryn chuckled. The laugh was only a small attempt at hiding his wonderment at how Githala seemed to have just commented on all of his recent thoughts. He hadn't been talking had he?
Kess expects a good treat, Rorth commented, feeling relieved that it sounded as though G'ryn had been released.
"I guess I'll go then," G'ryn murmured, scratching Wave's back. The fire lizard purred appreciatively. But both took to the air again as the rider stood up to leave.

" Ok, and don't worry about H'del! He'll be fine." She called after him. She wondered how long that it would take the few apprentices that were here at the Weyr to get to the Kitchens.
" You should have came to me when you started feeling ill you stubborn rider!" She said under her breath at H'del.
She then saw them coming....two of them. As they got there, she told them what had to be done and where to put him.
As they were moving H'del she went straight to wash up. She washed her hands twice and threw away anything that had come into contact with H'del.
" Well...time to go check on all my patients!"
