• Defining characteristics: We shall start with Kalae's eyes, as they are her most outstanding feature. They are startlingly deep, rich, dark golden brown. Her hair is long and black, falling down just past bottom of her shoulder blades to frame those almost gold eyes. The straight, silk mass is parted off to the right so that her hair often falls in front of her left eye. It's quite annoying really, but her foster mother always commented how she loved Kalae's hair, so it's kept long and glossy. She usually keeps her hair in a pony-tail, it's much easier to handle and she doesn't eat her hair when she falls that way. It has a slight highlight of blue when rukbats rays touch it. The greenriders face is carved into delicate features, but for her stubbornly determined chin. She has a rather small nose, that turns up gently and high cheekbones. Her lips are a delicate shade of pink bordering rose. Over her eyes she has dark, imperially arched eyebrows.
  
  Kalae's lean body is lightly tanned everywhere. She is lean and lanky, like that of a teenager. You know those types of girls that ancient earth used to despise? The very limber, skinny ones that didn't seem to harbor a piece of meat on their body? That’s Kalae. She’s beanpole. While she is lean, she’s also tall, skinny, lanky and gangly. She is seemingly boyish in frame and build, and has none of the curves that give her definition as a woman. In fact, she looks rather like an awkward, gangly teenager despite the fact that she's several Turns outside of that stage. Her arms and legs almost seem too long, and without sufficient meat on her bones, they look haphazardly thrown together. She stands at the nice height of 5’9” and typically wears a simplistic sleeveless top that leaves her arms free and a pair of loose pants.
  
  
• Anything extra: If she doesn't wear her shoulder knots, Kalae is not instantly recognizable as any sort of dragonrider.

  • Personality: Kalae is quiet, though she still has the force of personality behind her silence to make sure she's not ignored. Dark golden eyes are watchful, seeing the world. She's not arrogant, as some are, but she's a perfectionist, and expects perfection from herself, and from everyone around her. She's stubborn and determined, and when she thinks she's right, its almost impossible to convince her to do something. She's willful and headstrong, and telling her she can't do something doesn't keep her from doing what she wants.
    
    Somehow, people who see Kalae don't ever think she can do anything when they first see her. Then they try to stop her. That's when things have a tendency to get ugly. She has a quick temper, and insults to her either bluntly or on the slant set her to smoldering. Don't push her, unless you want her to push right back. Scheming is equally bad. She's a very up-front person who says what she thinks. Still, she has a good side as well.
    
    Confident and proud, Kalae is one you who surprised no one when she Impressed green. She has a half sister who impressed one of the fighting dragons after all. She's friendly with those she knows, and her close circle of friends know she's more than just a pretty face with a blunt tongue and a temper. She's funny, sarcastic, and human. She isn't perfect, no matter how hard she tries to be. She sees a lot more of weyrlife than she says, and she does a lot more than it seems on the surface.

  • History: Kalae was born to a lower caverns woman, her father a bronze rider who lost a flight. She was an unusual child from the start, her only friends for most of her child hood her half sibilings, Kaled and Kaleedra. None of them knew their father, though all knew what color dragon they rode, or if they were non riders, their craft. Kaled was fathered by a bluerider, and Kaleedra by a harper journeyman who stayed at the weyr for a short time. It's rather funny, as each took the other's father's path.
    
    When Kalae was twelve her older sister, at fourteen was allowed to stand. On her first try, Kaleedra impressed, to a hellion green named Sypheth. The duo are known as hell-raisers and it's sometimes said Sypheth is mentally unstable. That is one easy way to rouse Kalaes savage temper. She's defensive of her sister, and the rest of her family.
    
    A year later she was allowed onto the sands. She stood for two more clutches, turning thirteen in the interim. Then there was her third time standing. And that time was crazy. The last egg to hatch was small, so small people thought it was a dud. Kalae didn't accept anyones assessment of any eggs, so she treated it like any other egg, much to the distain of her peers, who thought she was crazy.
    
    Much to (almost) everyone's suprise, the tiny egg shattered last, and out tumbled a nearly black green. Hissing savagly at some of the still wandering dragonets about her, the green made her way, unencumbered by her small size, to stand before Kalae.
    
    Kalae! Your Morrigath has found you! You knew her for the great one she was, even before she hatched, and now she chooses you!

  • Dragon personality: Morrigath is a scheming hellion, much like Kalae's sister's Sypheth. She is often angry, even furious, and Kalae often is raging with her. Her eyes rarely lack a tint of red, though there are times when concern for her rider overcomes everything else. Her mating flights are short, but furious and filled with the shady green dragoness snapping at the chasers. She will never draw human blood, but a dragons blood is a different matter.
