• Personality:
  -working personality: Altar is a hard-working guy. He lives, quite literally, to work. He is usually wholly absorbed in his work. Sure, he may carry on a conversation with you, but chances are he will forget about what was just said. What work does he do? In reality, anything he can get his hands on. Working helps to cool him down if he is angered, or mollify him if saddened.
  -general personality: Altar, when work isn’t taking over his life, is a laid back person. He likes to just lie around, and one can find him near Weyr Lake. He is a good guy to just talk to. He rarely, if ever, gets angry. He’s too happy (not to mention lazy) to get sad or angry. When he does get angry, or sad, he starts to work. Work is like his anti-drug.

  --Siblings: Altara (twin, F), Craff (M, deceased)
  
• Pets: None
  
• History: Born from the result of a Flight, these twin were seen as mysteries. Not many twins are born on Pern, and of those twins that are born, usually only one survives. Now to have twins born of a Flight is very rare, but here were Altar and Altara, two healthy children. Sasha was an excellent mother, but A’on (formerly named Aaeon) was struggling to become a good father.
  
  In their sixth Turn of life, the twin’s mother adopted a boy named Craff. Craff was three Turns older that the twins, and nastier. Craff had been abandoned, but not Shunned, and so Sasha took him in from motherly love. Altar never really liked Craff, as the boy was greedy and wanted more than he gave. Then Craff died when Altar and his twin were eleven Turns old. No matter what happened, though, Altar didn’t overly dislike the boy. He was generally sad when Craff died. Craff hadn’t really been nice to him, yet Altar felt saddened because a part of his family was dead.
  
  Now, almost six Turns later, the twins are still living in the Weyr. They hope to Impress dragons, though know Weyrbred Candidates fare worse than Holdbred ones. They can’t let their hopes down, though, lest they never Impress.

• Why? Brown: The middle-man of the colors, browns don’t stand out as much as bronzes and aren’t as common as blues. Altar wants to have some ranking, but wants his part in Weyr business small so he can work.
  Blue: More common than Bronze and Brown colors, he wouldn’t stand out. The whole point is to work hard and not stand out. At least Altar thinks.
