Appearance
Amir
Compared to most females in Pern, Amir's height is quite a good and respectable size. Standing at just a bit above average with 5'8", she easily surpases most of the younger female candidates -- as well as some of the older women of the Weyr. Her weight fluctuates around 125 lbs, every now and then rising or falling as she exercises around. Due to her like for fitness, the female always tries to keep herself in top shape -- though it is not an easy task. Thankfully, nature blessed with a fast metabolism, which helps to achieve her goal.
Strands of a fiery hue frame her face, falling around her in a slightly waved nature. They are quite tamable, and the female finds much delight in changing her hairdo every now and again, though her favorite is two pigtails, with the rest of the hair falling freely as it brushes her shoulders. Her eyes are a radiant blue hue, a good and appealing contrast to the redhead -- and only matched by the gradient Blue firelizard she owes.
Still, her appearance is not as pure and perfect as it might seem or sound. Due to an incident with her beloved Chast, while he was still a hatchling, her back now sports the results turns after. Small scratches are found all over, a few indents into her skin as well, from the wounds her firelizard scored on her body one night. Though they healed perfectly, they all left scars. Still, Amir doesn't let it bother her, though she doesn't parade them about either.
She can often be found in various shade of clothing, though she prefers golden accessories above anything else. The most common clothing colors are shades of reds, oranges, blues and blacks.
Personality
Will-powered and a fighter.
If there’s one thing Amir has learned during her life is to never give up. An optimistic female, she tries to see the glass half full – even when others are absolutely sure it’s half, or completely, empty. She knows the world isn’t perfect, and she knows life won’t lay down a clear path for you to simply skip through. If you want something, you must acquire it, and those who are too weak or naïve will never reach their goals. In groups she is often the one to take the lead and responsibilities; it comes as part of her nature. However, if there’s someone else she can charge the weight on her shoulders with, she’ll gladly accept. Just don’t cross her. Amir may forgive, but she will never forget.
She likes to keep those she trust close, but as the saying go: ”Keep your friends close, and your enemies closer.” Usually standing on neutral grounds, she rarely takes a side – unless completely necessary – and tries to be social even with the people she might despise – or who might despise her.
If there’s someone she is truly dependable of is her firelizard, Chast. The Blue has an ability to sense who means ill-harm to her, and who is friendly. Many a times he’s been her savior – and Amir would never trade having him for anything else on Pern. Her most trusted companion, he probably has more privileges than even a lover would – and the firelizard returns her love, affection and devotion in the same amount and with the same strength. Still, she knows she could never love a flit alone and though one day she will, eventually, have a mate for now Amir is content to just be and take whatever life decides to give her. She is, however, picky when it comes to relations – and she can count the ones she’s had with one hand, and have three spare fingers still.
One thing, Amir is deadly afraid of the dark and closed spaces. It comes from an incident she went through when still a small Weyrbrat and, though she’s come a long way since then, deep inside her mind still remembers and dreads places that remind her of it.
History
Amir was born in the Weyr, daughter of a GreenRider by the name of Namin and a BrownRider named F’zo. Product of Brown Peridoth catching Green Amiraneth, her father was never fully fond, or attached, to parenting responsabilities. The GreenRider, however, had been deligted with her pregnancy – for already she was around forty-five turns of age, and knew this may as well be her last chance to have a child of her own. Pregnancy, however, was very much complicated every step of the way – yet even though the healers adviced that her best choice would be a jump /between/ the Rider outright refused to do so – and her Amiraneth backed her up every step of the way. The Green knew just how dangerous this whole ordeal was, she knew the price it would cost them both, but she also was aware of her Mine’s most deepest wish – and wished for Namin to complete it.
In a rainy night, small Amir was born – her mother naming the child after her beloved Green who had stood by her side every step of the way. However, her joyous time did not last long, and a few hours later a deafening screech engulfed Castaway Weyr, before twenty-nine turn old Amiraneth took a jump into the blackness, to never return again. Rider Namin was dead.
As much as he was not willing, F’zo still knew this was his daughter, and the BrownRider took responsibility of keeping an eye on the young child. Still, it was up for the drudges to raise her, though she was never denied the knowing of her true parentage – and the sacrifice her mother had done to birth her. When she was old enough she joined the other Weyrbrats, and at the age of three turns lost her father – the man lost in /between/ as his Peridoth tried to get them both away from the line of fire of another dragon while in drills. It was a tragic event, but Amir overcame it – continuing on with her live. She knew how much her mother had sacrificed for her, and she would not let it go to waste. No, she would make them both them and their dragons proud of her one day, she would.
Four turns later, adventurous Amir had gone out of Weyr boundaries with a small group of Weyrbrats, though their escapade through the cove would prove to be hazardous. Upon their return among the rocks, young Amir had managed to slip and fall through a small creevase between them, struggling to stay afloat as she desperately tried to climb back up – to no avail. While the other youngsters raced back to the Weyr for help, she managed to find a tunnel and crawl through it, ending up in a small cavern. Apparently it was connected to some underground lava rivers, for the sands where warm and comfortable. She curled up and slept, before being rudely awakened later by a gleaming golden hide. An angry looking Gold flit was batting her wings at her, screeching her lungs out.
Soon, though, menace and threats turned to hums, and a Bronze, two Browns and a bunch of Blues and Greens also winked into view, singing the same song they had carried on for generations. Deeper inside a small clutch of five eggs rocked, hatchlings emerging. Curious, Amir proceeded to move closer, grasping a few of the crustaceans laid down for the hatchlings. Among the confusion a Blue walked over to her, before hungrily devouring the food she held, impressing to the child. The rest soon flew off, leaving Amir with only the companion of the gradient shaded flit. Hours later she was found and dragged out by a Rider, who was surprised upon seeing the young firelizard.
A few sevendays later, one night, she had been sneaking around the kitchens to find food for her Chast. The young Blue had a liking for hiding inside her shirt, clung to her back by the shoulders. His head had been peeking out at the time from her collar neck, when one of the Weyr’s few canines bounded through. Frightened by the sight and barking, Chast had desperately tried to fly away and, being trapped inside her clothing, he had proceed to claw and tear an her back. Her screams awoke the Headwoman, who chased the dog away, before a Healer tended to her wounds. It took her a few sevedays, though eventually Amir came to trust her Blue again, and ever since the firelizard has always been cautious not to harm his Keeper.
Other than that her life was pretty normal, she was taught to read and write, as well as to be responsible. Every now and then she can be found humming a song or tune, Chast humming along with her, though other than this she’s just like every other Weyrbrat. At the age of twelve turns she was allowed to stand, and has been standing in Hatchings ever since – though still has not impressed. Amir, however, is optimistic, saying that her lifemate simply hasn’t arrived yet – but that it will one day. She’s sure of it.

[/sup]Blue Firelizard Chast – Seven Turns
Description: Chast is a Blue, though his coloration is quite amusing. A dark navy blue line runs from the tip of his nose to the end of his tail, the blue coloration falling in gradients around the rest of his body mass, ending in a light blue, almost ice-like coloration at the tip of his feet. He’s rather large for a Blue, close to the size of a small Brown, and his claws are a silver-ish color. His wing membrane is very light and almost transparent, sharing the same ice-like hue the tip of his feet possess.
Personality: Quiet and calm, Chast is as lazy as they come. This flit knows how to nap and how to rest, where the best spots are for sunning and where to find food. He will deliver messages and other small tricks, but only if there is an edible reward, or a nice oil bathing, at the end. The only times this Blue can be seen active is in flights, and even then he’s half-hearted about them.
