- Name: Z'war (Zorowar)
- Age: 15
- Gender: Male
- Rank: Weyrling
Physical
- Hair: Black, worn very short
- Eyes: Dark brown
- Height: 5'10
- Weight: 160lbs
- Defining characteristics: Zorowar is a skinny and swarthy boy. He tans easily and to a dark shade. His features are narrow and aquiline, and he has a slightly large nose. His right shoulder and part of his neck are marred by old scars that appear to be from an injury sustained as a small child. He tends to attempt to cover this with clothing. Despite this, he might be considered handsome by those who like the type, and he cares for his appearance enough to make some suspect he should be riding green.
Extra
- Personality: Zorowar is a quiet and well spoken young man, who is pleasant enough. Deep attractions, however, are hard for him to form. He has far more acquaintances than friends and is likely, as he grows to manhood, to have lovers rather than a mate. He cares greatly for his appearance, and generally tries to hide his scars. There are women who take less time getting ready for a Gather! Paradoxically, he has no sexual interest in men whatsoever, he likes girls and women. He likes them rather a lot, in fact, and even under candidate rules is likely to flirt shamelessly, even if he can't do anything more. Courage, however, is not something he lacks, although he is too flighty to make a good leader and is quite willing to follow after those more committed to a goal. He is volatile and angers easily, but almost never stays mad, in fact he is often trying to make up when the other party in the argument is still furious. He never sulks or pouts. Oh, and any excuse or none is enough for a party or celebration.
- Family: Father: Zorian. Mother: Warra. Half sister: Telwa.
- Pets: Mor, bronze firelizard
- History: When Warra came to the Weyr, it was with very little, on the back of a blue dragon with the clothes on her back and her child, Zorowar. Warra had been beaten and the child knifed, apparently by Warra's husband, Zorian...whom the bluerider slew. He had been riding Search, but Warra did not come to Castaway as a candidate. She came as a refugee. Clearly she could not survive on her own...and the child was like to die. The healers saved the boy, although he would carry scars his entire life. Warra was given a place in the lower caverns, in the kitchens. An excellent cook, she made a life for herself. Zorowar grew up with the weyrbred youngsters. In fact, being told nothing about his father at first, he fantasized about a brave bronzerider, killed fighting Thread. His mother finally told him the truth when he was twelve.
It devastated him. The fantasy was gone, and the reality...that his father was a wife beater and child abuser...hit him hard. He made a vow never to beat a woman or to harm a child...although it did not stop him from being the way he is. He is not a man to make strong commitments to others. Being the child of, essentially, a drudge, though, he watched other boys go into candidacy...and finally demanded why he could not. He was told that it was because he was not of rider stock.
That was when Zorowar resolved to leave the Weyr. With another clutch, the first in several years, on the Sands, he could not bear to watch his friends all Stand and Impress while he was left as a drudge. If that was what he was going to be, then he could be that at a hold and not have to be left out. He packed his things and checked for a thread free day.
Then, right as he was leaving, he was interrupted by a bluerider. And that rider told him that his dragon said he had the potential to Stand...that he should be Searched. Gave him the chance he had thought blocked to him. So, Zorowar joins the ranks of the Candidates after all...and wonders what will come out of Miricath's eggs.
His wondering did not last long. Miricath's clutch hatched healthy dragons...except for one thing. All but one were of unusual colors...blacks, purples and two cream dragons. He watched the clutch hatch with something between amazement and amusement, but had resigned himself to waiting for Capricath's clutch when the last dragon, cream Muzith, chose him.
He was now in the situation of uncharted territory, bonded to a dragon that, like the blacks and purples before, was a new creature. What would become of them?
For Dragonriders Only:
- Dragon name and color: Cream Muzith
- Dragon age: Hatchling
- Dragon personality: Muzith has tons and tons of energy. He borders on hyperactive, and much of Z'war's own energy goes towards reining his dragon in. The good side is he tries really hard...the bad side is he's a dragon very likely to get into trouble. When it comes to Z'war's flirtatiousness, though, it is the dragon that is a calming influence. Not that Muzith dislikes females...but he is not about to chase every tail dangled in front of him. No, he's a little more...selective, than that. He's close to his rider, but is a little more willing than most to pay attention to others.
