Firelizards are basically small dragons - in fact, dragons were genetically engineered from them when the settlers first came to Pern. They aren't as sentient as their larger cousins, however they do impress to humans and will stay loyal, so long as they are fed and cared for.
Gold
The largest of the firelizards, female golds come in a range of colours from pale white gold to dark, almost bronze colours - always metallic. They rise to mate twice a turn (every two RL months), and will be caught by a bronze or brown firelizard. (For more information on clutches, click here.
Bronze
The largest male firelizard, bronzes come in a range of colours from light coppery colours to dark, brackish colours - always metallic. They will rise to mate whenever a gold or green firelizard does.
Brown
The middle-sized male firelizard, browns come in a range of colours from biscuity pale to nearly black. They will rise to mate whenever a gold or green firelizard does.
Blue
The smallest male firelizard, blues come in a range of colours from nearly white to navy blue. They will rise to mate whenever a green firelizard does.
Green
The smallest of the firelizards, female greens come in a range of colours from pale green to dark hunter greens. They rise to mate four times a turn (every RL month), and will be caught by a bronze, brown or blue firelizard. (For more information on clutches, click here.
