((H'del/Nick claims this second page!!!))
They find me very interesting do they? The little one is funny! Svarth is interesting too...I like him, a good friend to fly with in Thread.
" True Malloth. He says that Svarth here is a good friend to fly with in Threadfall...and that your little Bronze is funny." H'del smiled and scratched Svarth's eye-ridge.
Malloth crooned at K'eld and sat down next to him, being careful not to sit on the other rider. H'del laughed and winked at the other rider. " He enjoys your company, he does."

Svarth lifted his head a little, just out of H'del's reach as he listened to Malloth. He dipped his head to the Bronze, lowering his head once more to H'del. I like these two, K'eldMine. We should go swimming more often in the morning, he crooned, laughing inside at his Rider.
"Svarth likes you two. He thinks we should go swimming more often in the morning," K'eld mentioned, putting a hand under Skel, lifting the flitt up, towards Malloth. "We enjoy your company, too," he said, watching as Skel nuzzled up to the bigger Bronze. "Seems we really do," he whispered, glancing at the approaching Candidate. [/sup]

Velain jumped slightly as the Bronzerider yelled at him to come over. And lad? He wasn't just a boy. Hmph. But still, he couldn't very well refuse, and he did want to see the dragons up close.
"Hello," He said politely as he approached, addressing both the riders and their dragons. He nodded stiffly at the two riders, unable to bring himself to bow, but hopefully that was respectful enough. "I was just watching, I hope you don't mind."

At the appearance of the young boy, Svarth nudged H'del and started to move towards K'eld. Tell him it's nothing personal, K'eld of mine, but with this Candidate around, it would be wiser for him to see us dragons with our Riders, not with another. Svarth informed K'eld as he ambled over to the young Black Rider.
Dipping his head to the newly arrived Candidate, K'eld held up a hand in a greeting. "Nothing personal, H'del," he said, waving to Svarth as the Black laid near him, giving enough room for Malloth and he to be comfortable. Greetings were hard for him, the words seemingly escaping him, so he let H'del take the lead. [/sup]

" Mind? Not at all my friend! Seeing someone so interested in dragons is heart warming! I'm H'del the giant lump of Bronze hide is Malloth, Mine." H'del nodded at the Candidate as he introduced himself and Malloth. " Go on Malloth, say hello to the boy. He apparently loves dragons." H'del smiled.
Fine Mine. Hello new friend, pleased to meet you. Malloth rumbled with a little amusement at the new human.
" See, like a little feline. Go on, you can scratch him if you like. He won't bite." H'del laughed.
As the Black dragon went to his rider...Malloth lumbered over.
" Don't fret K'eld I agree!" H'del smiled at the other rider. " Ah, and this is K'eld and his Black Svarth!"

"I'm Velain," he introduced himself, stifling a smirk at the Bronzerider's cheerful nature, a bit taken aback. He had always thought of bronzeriders as the strong, silent types. But he hardly had time to dwell on that before another voice sounded, this one in his head. He jumped, then quickly composed himself, trying to keep his expression neutral, as if dragons spoke to him every day.
"Hello, Malloth," He said, his voice quiet despite his attempts to seem courageous. He reached out a hand and scratched at the bronze's eye ridges, having heard that dragons were rather fond of that spot. He kept his eyes on Malloth as he spoke to the riders again. "I can't wait until the Hatching. It must be great to have a dragon of your own."

Hearing his name being spoken, K'eld dipped his head again, feeling Svarth doing the same behind him. From his shoulder, came a mix of a roar and a bark, as Skel expressed his unhappiness at not being mentioned along with the Riders and dragons. "And this is Skel," K'eld announced, placing a hand over the excitable flitt to calm him. "It's nice to meet you, Velain," he commented, reaching out to rest a hand on Svarth's eyeridge, his fingers absently scratching there.
Kind of tiny for a Candidate, Svarth rumbled, his words laced with a mocking, laughing tone. Sure he can hold on while a dragon is in flight? K'eld nudged the Black's head with his knee, not even bothering to cover his grin. "Don't taunt the Candidate, Svarth, my love. The day he Impresses, may be the day you and I are put in our places."We have places? Interesting.[/sup]

Malloth crooned when his eye ridge was scratched, making H'del laugh.
" He really likes that Velain. Oh my! I forgot to introduce Skel! Terribly sorry little flitter." He smiled at the fire-lizard. He watched the Candidate for a few moments.
When K'eld scolded Svarth, H'del smiled. The dragon was poking fun at the candidate, but Malloth couldn't do that to anyone who scratched his eye ridges like that. " Now, now you two...cut out the fussing." he said cheerfully.
" You know, Velain...having a dragon is a great responciblity, but it has its vast rewards. Malloth is my lifemate, nothing can separate us...ever!" He grinned at the boy, eyes twinkling, remembering the day he had Impressed the Bronze.
" Impression is emotional, be prepared for that lad."

Velain grinned when Malloth crooned, pleased that he had done the right thing. Then K'eld introduced Skel, and he remembered his own fire-lizard. "That's Spark over there, playing in the water." He said, waving at the blue, who was still skipping in and out of the waves. Spark had a terribly short attention span and was not interested in the riders at all.
He stiffened when someone commented on his size, turning to glare at K'eld, but then he realized that the voice had been inside his head. He scowled and looked up at the Black. "Well, to a great big black lump like you, everything looks small, doesn't it?"
Oh...wait. Dragons could eat people.
"I mean that in the best way possible," He added, blushing crimson. He quickly turned his attention back to H'del. "Emotional?" He repeated, a bit doubtfully. He'd heard talk of Impression but didn't know what was true. He always thought of dragonriding as having power, flying through the sky and flaming things. "Well, I guess it will be nice to have a friend like that." Yeah, he wasn't going to get it until it actually happened.

At the mention of another firelizard, Skel was gone, zipping towards the Blue flitter, only to dive into the water, creating a small spalsh before resurfacing to play with the Blue. "And now my undershirt will never dry," K'eld sighed, shaking his head.
He called me a big lump! Svarth hissed, raising his head to glare orange at the young Candidate. Your point? K'eld asked, placing a calming hand on his dragon's foreleg. "You are kind of getting bigger around the gut area. Maybe you should lay off the wherries and her-"
K'eld was unable to finish his comment, seeing how Svarth turned quickly, swinging his large head at his Rider. The force of the dragon's wedge shaped head, hitting K'eld small human body, sent the Rider several feet, where he landed on his back. After getting his breath back, and finally stopped the world from spinning, K'eld made an attempt to rise, only to put his hand to his head, grinning the entire time. "Impressing is also painful," K'eld mentioned, both references to his aching head and the scar running across his face.
It was slow progress getting back to his feet. [/sup]

" Yeah, some Candidates who don't get out of the way when they are not accepted...get mauled." he looked to make sure K'eld was ok, and then to Svarth.
" Now Svarth you card, was that really neccesary?" H'del laughed and collapsed back onto the floor at the rider/dragon antics of the others.
Tears streaming down his face, he said, " Malloth's too big to do that...he might fracture my arm." he smacked the Bronze's middle affectionately. " Do be careful and get out of the way of dragonets that don't speak to you to tell you they are Yours eh Velain?"

Finally on his feet, and glaring daggers at H'del for laughing, K'eld made his way, slowly, over to Svarth's leg, leaning heavily against it. "Stay out of the way of claws, too," K'eld added, grinning as he spoke.
I told you, I didn't mean to attack you. I was hungry. Do you blame me after being in that small shell for so long? Svarth hissed, swinging his head back up and not even bothering to check if K'eld was ok. He may be bonded to the young man, but there was time even he didn't want to show emotions. He would ask later and make up for swatting at him. "Just try to use your head on the Sands, Velain. There are times when the excitement of Hatchlings causes some to forget themselves and they go for dragons that aren't theirs. I once saw a Candidate go after a Bronze after the Bronze had already chosen. The two Candidates started fighting, right there on the hot Sands. Both ended up burned and the young Bronze seemed always skinny. Like a ghost," K'eld said, surprised at himself for talking that much.[/sup]

Velain laughed when the Black sent his rider flying, then abruptly ended it in a cough, not wanting to offend K'eld. "Now that I didn't know about Hatchings," He said, frowning a little. He only wanted to walk off the sands with a dragon, not an injury! His expression darkened further when K'eld related the story of the bronze.
"Well, I'm sure that the best dragon..." He trailed off, "The right dragon for me will pick me, so I won't have to worry about that." He said a bit arrogantly, confident that he wouldn't have any problems like that. But he would be sure to keep the advice in mind.

A little arrogent, don't you think, K'eldMine? Svarth thought, nudging K'eld to put his eyeridge. Do you think he will take H'del and your advice? One can only hope, K'eld thought, reaching out to scratch Svarth's eyeridge. If he doesn't, then we'll hear about another Candidate getting mauled and he'll be careful the second time around. "In due time, you will Impress, but don't worry if you don't," K'eld added, nodding his head. Agreed Svarth thought, as Skel landed on his snout, curling up and going to sleep. Do I look like a pillow to you, Bronze flitt? the Black dragon snorted, thinking of shaking the flitt off but that would move K'eld's hand, so he didn't.[/sup]

H'del caught onto the arrogant tone too. " Hey now Velain...don't get arrogant. That could cause you to walk away alone. Be Confident and feel like you are going to Impress...but just don't say things like that."
He smiled at the Cadidate. " I'm sure you will Impress too, but be a little more humble ok?" he winked.
Malloth looked over at Svarth and K'eld. I'd like to be rough with you H'del, but I agree that my size would hurt you...that's something that I cannot do, to anyone.
H'del snorted with laughter. " Malloth you are a huge softy!" he grinned at the others. " Malloth could never hurt anyone, he is a huge baby feline."
