What happens when an earthquake makes Fort Weyr inhabitable?

The tenth Interval has been a peaceful time for all of Pern. Holders believe in the dragonriders who are sworn to protect them from Thread and the dragonriders in turn continue their cycle of life, giving birth to new fighters to combat their nemesis in turns to come. But peace does not linger for everyone. Fort Weyr and its surrounding lands - including Fort Hold - were the victims of an earthquake. Torrential rains worsened the situation, causing mudslides and earth slides throughout the peninsula. The Weyr took the brunt of the damage and was quickly evacuated to the eastern shore where even now they take up temporary residence. Plans for renovation are in the works, but nothing can be finished quickly enough. Life has taken a turn for the worst for those weyrfolk unfortunate enough to seek shelter in Fort Weyr's camp, and only time will tell what lies ahead for them all.
We are a roleplaying community on Acornrack with a theme based off of Anne McCaffrey's Dragonriders of Pern book series. As a whole, we are dedicated to making a fun, thriving environment here at After Fort Weyr. You can look forward to plenty of plot involvement and character development, and we encourage every member to contribute. We have high expectations, and we hope to live up the precedents set by long-lasting games before us. Join us in that endeavor today.

- Active admin well-versed in all things 'Dragonriders of Pern' and roleplay
- A site where IC ranks do not tote the OOC powers
- Our original Search program
- Plots that do not go stale after a few weeks of roleplay
- A place where all levels of roleplay are accepted and where beginners/intermediate roleplayers can find the help they need to get better

) and created an account for people to use if they wish to post or update their advertisement on AFW. It's very similar to a guest account on AcornRack (our host), in that you have to log into it, and have restricted access to certain parts of the site.
