( Zen [glow=olive,2,300]Claims[/glow] Page Two!)
Malin grinned, and felt his hand move through her hair. It was probably knotted, as she had been sleeping. Even if it was cut to around her chin. She noticed, almost belatedly, as she looked at his figure, that his hair was black, the exact opposite of his. He was also taller than her, at least by two heads. She only came up to his chest.
"Am I really that strange?" She asked, expecting the answer 'yes.' Of course she was that strange. Who else would just sit there watching clouds all day?

He smiled and looked down at her. " Malin, you aren't that strange. Just because you like clouds and to count stars? No. Even if you really can't focus on many things...it's ok, at least to me."
" After all, didn't I say that your strangeness was good?" He grinned and locked eyes with her again. " Those eyes of yours are the best kind of strange Malin. The enchanting kind."
He hugged her closer to him for a minute to make sure that she knew he was telling the truth.

Well, that surprised her. She pushed away from him, and leaned against the doorway. Half of her was now illuminated by the moon's light. The other half was shrouded in the shadows of the barracks. She could now see Dr'ym fully. He had his shirt off, obviously, and he was well-tanned. The tan was not seen because of the nighttime light, but she knew he had one. He had looked tan yesterday, or maybe that was just his skin coloring. She really didn't care.
"You are nice, Dr'ym." This was, actually, the first time she had said his name. She had thought of saying it, but thoughts weren't words. "No one ever spoke to me like you have."
Maybe that was because he was beginning to like you, Malin. Some person in a cot next to the window shifted and rolled over. Malin's eyes followed that person's movements, then flitted back to Dr'ym. "No one but the Watchdragon is awake at night. I know. Why don't we go out of here before someone wakes?"

He almost whined when she pulled away. He followed her movements to the doorway with his eyes, watching her lean against it.
The moonlight made her even more beautiful than she had been yesterday and as he was staring at her...she was staring at him. He smiled and brushed a hand through his hair.
" Well, why not Malin?" He asked as he took a few steps toward her. " You are beautiful, and very intriguing! But, in a way...I'm glad I'm the first."
When she suggested they leave for a while, he didn't care. He quietly crossed to her and, grasping her hand in his, simply said, " Lead the way Malin, lovely."
He smiled and caught her eyes with his gleaming gaze. He didn't care where they went right now...he just wanted to be with her.
Krian lifted his head and saw that Dr'ym was with Malin at the same time that Claudiuth did. They both crooned softly and went back to sleep simutaneously.

Malin was slightly startled when Dr'ym clasped one hand in his. His hands were large, but they suited him. She felt dwarfed by him. She noticed that Claudiuth had awoken only to wish them farewell. Brangwainth was still asleep, and Malin wanted it to stay that way. She nodded, "Good. We'll have to keep to the shadows. That shouldn't be that hard, though."
Then, as quiet as a Terran mouse, she slipped out of the barracks. Her night-sight was superb, as she'd stayed awake every midnight for the past six sevendays. "Follow me," she whispered, and kept his hand in hers. She knew the perfect place. "It's just near the candidate barracks, not too far!"
This 'not too far' sent them across the Weyr Bowl and to the candidate barracks. Once there, Malin noted that new Candidates were already sleeping in there. Not many, but enough to suffice. She wondered who was going to Fly soon, but whisked Dr'ym past the opening to the side. "Alright, now. We have to climb these rocks."
And climb Malin did. When she finished climbing, she found her favorite spot, a low dip in the rocks that was large enough for even Dr'ym to spread out on. This gave her the full view of the Weyr Bowl and the sky. "Here we are!" She said, her eyes not focused on Dr'ym, but on the sky. It was beautiful.

Malin had propelled them forward, and as Dr'ym followed he smiled as he watched her slick movements. Her figure was small...yet somehow it was just the right size. He was enjoying himself.
She had said it was not to far, and really it wasn't. The thing he had not expected was to climb rocks...but now they were truly alone.
He looked around and sat down comfortably, then looked over at her. Malin was enthralled with the sky. It was indeed beautiful, as he looked up and saw much of it, but she was too.
" Malin...stop staring at the sky for a minute lovely and come sit down?" He smiled at her, and with both moons out...nothing obscuring their light, he could see her completely and well in the moonlight.
Dr'ym was almost sure his heart skipped a beat.

Malin hadn't noticed she was standing up. Indeed, she was, and she could feel the wind sway around her. They were quite high up, but that was to be expected when one lived in a Weyr. With it brought the smells of that night's dinner. The Weyrlings, being confined to the barracks, had had to eat at the barracks, too.
Almost regretfully, she crawled down to where Dr'ym was, and sat next to him. She looked up at the sky, and grinned, "It's so beautiful up here." That was a statement, but meant to be a question.
A shooting star crossed the sky, flying from right to left. "Oh," she said with a sharp intake of air, "make a wish!"

" It is Malin, and you are even more beautiful in the full moonlight." Dr'ym said softly, putting his hand in hers.
When the star shot across the sky, he smiled as she gasped. She told him to make a wish.
" Ok." He did. " There, I made a wish. I don't know if it will come true or not though...that's up to a certain someone."
His eyes floated around her face, he smiled again...and sighed.

Malin, too, made a wish. She would tell no one what wish she wished, because if she did, the wish would not come true. "I also made a wish." She said, wistfully.
He had taken her hand in his. She had not noticed until her hand grew warm above the cold rock. She turned her face to him, and surveyed him. He was looking at her, and smiling. She saw his chest rise and fall in a long, drawn out sigh. She grinned. "You are the only person I've let see this place."
Almost as an afterthought, she mock-frowned, and her voice became semi-sarcastic. Semi-sarcastic was hard to do with a voice as dreamy and high as hers. "Don't make me kill you for taking you here."

He laughed. " Malin, if you did I would be the happiest guy in the Weyr if not Pern when I died." He winked at her.
He squeezed her hand a little. " The only real regret I would have...ah, you don't want to know." He was teasing her, making her ask him if she did. " Or do you?"
He caught sight of her entire figure in the moonlight, sitting so close to him. He scooted a little closer.

The only regret he'd have? Malin's eyes opened a little wider. What was he hinting at? Brangwainth's mind tugged at hers just a bit. Malin, where are you? Malin, her heart pounding, mind-told her dragon where she was. Brangwainth seemed a mite disappointed that her rider was out of the barracks with a male, but grudgingly went back to sleep. Brangwainth knew Dr'ym was good, and wouldn't hurt hers.
Just then, Dr'ym moved closer. Malin smiled a bit, and scooted closer, also. "No, Dr'ym, I do want to know. What is it that you would regret?" Maybe he was going to say something she'd like more than the sky!

When she scooted closer and said that she wanted to know what he'd regret...he swallowed hard.
He looked at the sky, then back at her and into her eyes again. That relaxed him.
" I would regret that I hadn't kissed you Malin, here under the stars and the beautiful night sky." He sighed as he let the words flow, never taking his eyes from hers.
His hand went to her hair again, running through it...and he smiled.

Malin's already wide eyes widened some more. "Kiss me?" She asked. This was quite odd. No one ever touched her. Yet Dr'ym did. No one ever gave her compliments. Yet Dr'ym did. No one, besides her parents, ever wanted to kiss her.
Yet Dr'ym did.
Malin let out a shocked breath, then smiled. "You would like to kiss a weirdo." That was said jokingly, but besides her smile, her face was serious. "If that is your regret."
Malin maneuvered herself to fall into his arms, and knew he would catch her. She looked at those pretty blue eyes, and that black hair on his tanned face. They were so close, and she could feel his heart beating. "Kiss me, dear one."
Dear one? Yes, Malin thought him a dear one, though not as dear as Brangwainth, he had gotten to know her, and was therefore a dear one. The only dear one that wasn't a dragon.

" I would never call you a wierdo Malin!" He said as she "fell". He naturally caught her, and pulled her close.
" Don't scare me by falling lovely..." He was going to say more, but was stopped by what she had said a second before. Kiss her? She wanted him to? His eyes locked with her wonderful green ones and he caressed her cheek in one hand, holding her in the other arm.
As his lips touched hers, everything else faded. Nothing else mattered except her and this moment. It was electrifying, so much so that the hairs on the back of his neck stood up.
Claudiuth was still there, and still his lifemate, but the dragon understood.
Back in the barracks, Claudiuth took a satisfied snort. About time. And continued to sleep.
Dr'ym parted from her lips. " There, now I have no regrets. What about you?" He smiled down at her, still not to far from her lips himself.

Malin felt the firm pressure of Dr'ym's lips against hers, and almost recoiled. No one had ever kissed her like that, ever. Instead, acting against her instincts, she leaned into the kiss. Brangwainth, who had never really gotten back into the deep sleep of a dragonling, sighed with emotion. The pleasure Malin felt had carried on to her dragon.
'Now I have no regrets.' Dr'ym said pleasantly, his voice very close to her ears. His mouth still close to hers.
Malin smiled up at him, "no regrets?" But she let the question drop, and instead looked at his icy blue eyes, made gray by the night sky. "I never had any regrets. But," this was said a little slyly, "I did get the first part of my wish."
