Dr'ym was so bored! He could barely stand it. Claudiuth had just eaten some of the preprepared meat that was brought to the weyrlings every time it was requested, and he was dosing. Krian was gone for a while...out doing who knew what with the wild fire-lizards.
Dr'ym picked up a book and flipped it open. He slammed it shut, he was too bored to read!
Then go to sleep Dr'ym.
I can't! I'm too bored to do that too!!!!! He patted the sleepy dragon's head and scratched an eye ridge. The earlier oiling had done away with the itching, but Claudi liked it.
Dr'ym got up and began to pace down the length of the Barracks.

Z'war had found some use for his time while the weyrlings were quarantined. Having been a drudge, and then a candidate for only a very brief time before the Hatching, he was perhaps not as well educated as some of the other weyrlings. *He* was reading, slowly, a history of Caufar Weyr. Until a bronzerider paced past him. He glanced up. "You'll wear a groove in the floor doing that, Dr'ym.

" Gah, I know Z'war! But what else is there to do? I'm so bored that I could die!" Claudiuth sat up quickly. " Not really dear heart." Dr'ym said to sooth the dragon.
" I mean, if they want us to stay in here...at least give me a new gitar or something. An old one! I need something entertaining! I'm going to pull my hair out!" At this his dragon sat up again.
" Really Claudi, I won't." He stopped in front of Z'war. " How are you so calm? Happen to have a gitar or harp? Anyone!!?? I need something to play!" Dr'ym was a little hot under the collar. He needed to play a soothing melody.

Zenniel was sitting there, watching the bronzerider passing her back and forth, back and forth. She was tempted to do the same. But, unfortunately, she knew no one here. Then, at the mention of a gitar or harp, she snorted. "Fat lot of good those things will do." Now, don't say anything like that. We're all so very bored! Zenniel ignored her dragonling. "Soon the songs will get stuck in our minds and become very annoying. No, what we need is a game."
Malin had been listening, but had tuned everyone out. She was staring at the clouds outside the barracks door. "Don't those clouds look pretty today? Don't you want to get up and sleep in them?" Dear Mine, we can't sleep on clouds. Give it a rest. Brangwainth said sleepily, one eye open and looking over her Bonded to see if Malin would do something weird.
Akkika groaned. "There really is nothing to do! Why don't we all just go out and get sick? Then there will be something for us to do except wait!" Upendith shot his rider a look. He was one of the dragons that wasn't tired after the ginourmous eating. Now, Aki. Don't think like that. I wouldn't want you to go and kill yourself.
C'rick was the only one that wasn't bored. How about that. Instead, he and Stealth were devising plans on getting out of the barracks. The front door was too very much watched, by Weyrlings and Riders alike. How would they get out? How about this---? And C'rick and Stealth were planning.

Dr'ym sensed something mischeivious. He turned to C'rick and his Black dragon...huddled together. They were obviously plotting something.
At least plotting is something to do! No one has an instrument.
Dr'ym slowly walked over to them. " What are you planning? I think I may be able to help." he whispered to the other weyrling.
Claudiuth mumbled but didn't move from where he was.
Dr'ym was grinning though. Maybe something exciting would happen.

C'rick glanced up in slight confusion when Stealth said, Someone this way comes. Yes, Stealth had sort of a problem with poems and rhymes.
"Oh, hello." C'rick said, somewhat impatiently, and glanced around as the boy asked what they were planning. "Planning? Should I tell him, Stealth?" The small black, which looked more like a gray dragon than black one, nodded. "Alright, fine. We're figuring out ways to get out of these barracks. It's not going good, as there's only one entrance and exit that I know of."

" We could always over-power them. Knock'em out or something. I'm so bored right now, I don't care what punishment the Weyrleaders can cook up for breaking out of here!" Dr'ym sat down heavily.
Claudiuth decided to join him, slowly, and got over to his Bond before huffing down again onto the floor. Dr'ym had to cut back on what that little dragonet was eating!
Just then Krian popped back in. This gave Dr'ym an idea.
" Or maybe there is someone out there who thinks that this is unfair too. We could send out fire-lizards to people we trust and ask for help!"

C'rick looked at this boy like he was mad about the first statement he'd said. Who would ever try to get the Weyrleaders mad!? This boy was-- Oh, that second plan seemed to work. Only, C'rick didn't know anyone other than his Aunt, and he didn't want to anger her more than he probably had. "I don't know anyone, though. Do you?"

" Ha! Not really...though I can probably trust Ir'en, I've met him once breifly. The rest are stuck in here with us." At that he looked over at Nayza...far away from him it seemed.
" We should ask some of the others, I think that Malin wants out too. Maybe some of the others are willing?" Dr'ym winked and smiled in a wily way.
Claudiuth snorted. Better than sitting here and getting fat, I guess.

A'tair thought he was going to have to tick off the weyrleaders after so short a time after all. It was just... he couldn't stand not knowing what was going on. It was just, "Stay there until it's safe." Yes, but safe for who?! Sure, it was safe for them, the weyrlings, their precious new riders. But what about everyone else in the weyr? The drudges, the Healers, the people who were just sort of there because they had nowhere else to go? Were they just to sit and rot and die because nobody cared whether they got well or not? Well, not no one. A'tair cared. Though he had some ulterior motives living there that he didn't wish to see in any sort of pain.
Even Romeoth was picking up on his agitation. Shouldn't you just calm down? It'll make you feel better in the end.
HowcanIbecalmwhenIdon'tknowwhat'shappeningtoCorenne?! And then he saw the two boys and dragons, huddled together, obviously plotting something. He crept up to them, trying to listen in so that they couldn't exclude him. He picked up a few words here and there... "overpower them...", "fire lizards...".
"Can you get out? Or a message? Something? There's someone I know out there, and I just... need to make sure she's all right." He spoke, knowing that he'd heard enough that they'd be afraid not to let him in on it. He wasn't by nature a conniving person, to sneak around like this, but he really saw no other choice in the matter.

C'rick nearly jumped out of his skin when another boy came up. Shardit, he was letting down his guard. More like planning too much, my dear. In which C'rick shot a disgusted look at his black. Stealth snorted hot air all over C'rick's face. C'rick grimaced. "Alright, fine whatever-your-name is. Who is this she? Do you think that she could help us?"
Malin, on the other hand, was staring out at the sky. "Oh, pretty clouds."
Maybe C'rick could use Malin in some of his plannings... she was pretty... out of it.

Dr'ym smiled at A'tair. " Calm down man. Krian can get her a message! Even if she can't help us, it will calm you down...and we need calm heads first." he motioned for A'tair to write a message.
" Now C'rick, Malin may be of more use if we can get her head out of the clouds." Claudiuth snorted at the joke. He saw the look in C'rick's eye and took a closer look at Malin.
" Hmm...you have a good eye. She is pretty." He whispered to C'rick.

What the SHARDS!? C'rick spun to look at Dr'ym, his eyes showing more confusion than what he felt: anger. He did not like Malin! He thought Malin was so out of it! Yeah, whatever. 'Someday my prince will come.'
Which was exactly what Malin said at that moment. "Someday my prince will come. Oh, how I wait for that day."
Weird, eh? Not really, at least not at the time being. C'rick sighed. "Sure, pretty. Fine. You try getting her head out of the clouds. When that succeeds, which I doubt it will, come get me." He spared another glance at Malin, who, quite literally, freaked him out.

Dr'ym nodded. " You got it."
He walked over to Malin and tapped her on the shoulder.
" Hey Malin! Remeber me, Dr'ym? We kinda need your help for a few minutes if you don't mind. It won't take long and I promise that you can come back to you clouds!" He smiled at her the whole time, eyes gleaming. His hand never left her arm, a friendly thing more than anything else.

"It's A'tair," he snapped irritably. He probably shouldn't have said it like that, but all of this waiting and not knowing was really starting to get to him. Still, there really was no excuse. "Sorry. I don't know, though. If she could help, I mean. Or even how to get a message to her. Writing a message isn't going to do any good."
Mentally, he kicked himself. Duh duh duh duh! How had he thought to contact her? She couldn't speak to the dragons, so Romeoth couldn't be a go-between. She couldn't see to read, so he couldn't write to her. He couldn't get to her, so he couldn't speak. She did, though, have... no. He really was lost here.
